Madrasah Aliyah Sunan Ampel Pare is one of the private educational institutions located within the Tahfidhil Qur’an Islamic School Sirojul ‘Ulum. At the Madrasah the curriculum used is the 2013 currikulum which is integrated with special madrasah progams such as the tahfidh progam, and is added with pesantren-based subject content with an emphasis on classical Islamic religious studies. This research is motivated by the efforts made by the al-qur’an hadith teacher in conducting a deeper study regarding the efforts made by the al-qur’an hadith teachers in attracting students’ interest in memorizing the qur’an.
The objectives of this study are 1) To find out the efforts of the al-qur’an hadith teacher in attracting students’ interest in memorizing the qur’an. 2) To find out the supporting and inhibiting factors in attracting students’ interest in memorizing the qur’an.
This study uses a qualitative method with a descriptive approach. Data was collected by using interview, observation, and documentation techniques. The sources of data in this study are: 1) primary data, namely two teachers of al-qur’an hadith subjects. 2) secondary data in this study, namely: books, internet, documents, waka curriculum and students. The data validation technique used by the researcher is source triangulation. Data analysis was carried out by collecting data, reducing data, presenting data and seeking conclusions.
The results showed that: 1) the efforts of the al-qur’an hadith teacher in attracting students’ interest in memorizing the qur’an at MA Sunan Ampel Pare by using various forms of teaching and certain methods of memorizing. 2) supporting factors in attracting students’ interest in memorizing the qur’an, namely having the will, family encouragement, and environmental factors. Furthermore, the inhibiting factors are not being able to divide time, not being istiqamah and not mastering makharijul latters and tajwid.
